Be sure to join thewho.com if you like, they have special packages and VIP stuff. It's $50, a bit steep but I'll be joining and you get a free t-shirt and will be known as an offical "Wholigan."
You can pre-order tickets and I'm so glad that I'll get to go to my family concert after all.
Don't forget that Rock honors are on vh1 today honoring the Who in less than an hour and 40 minutes! It's on at 9 depending on where you live!
I'm SO excited!
You can go to vh1.com and they have a facebook page and it's funny to put your picture in "Baba O'Riley." Lol. I was Roger and my boyfriend was Pete.
My favorite thing was the pinball wizard game.
Today they played the "Amazing Journey:The story of the Who" rock doc this morning on vh1 and it was fun to watch again.
It's available in stores and I recommend buying it.
If you are a casual fan, you should start out with the Who's rock opera "Tommy" and their great album "Who's next." Video-wishe "The kids are alright" is a starting point.
Long live rock!

THE WHO ARE TOURING!

I'm very excited about the Who touring. I thought that there was not going to be a tour for a while after all the stuff Pete Townshend said. He felt like he didn't want to tour w/ the old material and him and Roger were working on a new album w/ T Bone Burnett.
Two dates have only been given for the U.S. Tour.
The dates are: Nov. 8 Nokia theater, Los Angeles, CA. and Nov. 9 as well at the Nokia theater.
More dates and times haven't been announced but will and I will keep you posted.
This makes me really happy because every year my family goes to a concert and we haven't picked anyone yet so I'm hoping they come to the Palace in Detroit so we can go.
A small other reminder is that vh1 is honoring the Who at the rock honors.
That is July 17th 9/8 C. on vh1.
The Who will be performing as well as the Foo fighters, the flaming lips, Pearl Jam, Incubus, and Tenacious D. This will be interesting but I think it will be an awesome show!
Random fact about the Who:They are the loudest rock band.

The end of Aerosmith?

So being in broadcasting school, I frequently check news now and to my surprise ran over a story that put me in complete and utter shock.
My jaw dropped and I could only mutter a "What the f***!"
Steven Tyler got laid off from Aerosmith! I have no idea how they could just fire their lead singer like that. He had a great voice, good showmanship, and he knew how to control a crowd.
I don't know how they are going to replace him or with whom. They decided to keep more "energetic" members in the band which is a bunch of bull.
I have never seen Aerosmith live but my brother has and I actually really like them a lot. They were what was right about the 70's and even the 80's.
They were great in the 90's w/ those videos w/ Liv Tyler and Alicia Silverstone and I loved when they did Armageddeon.
I think their decline hit when they played the superbowl halftime show which I remember vividly was horrible because of Britney.
It's just weird that they would do such a thing after the release of the Aerosmith guitar hero game! HELLO!
Steven Tyler has been in the band for 38 years and got told 45 minutes before a gig that he was fired.
I understand that he just went to rehab but that's no reason to fire a guy.
I think that this is a HUGE mistake because Steven Tyler IS Aerosmith. I hate to break that but he's the only guy in the band's name that I can actually remember w/ the exception of Joe Perry.
I am hopeful that he will probably get asked to rejoin or if not he and Don Henley from the "Eagles" can get together. Poor Don just got replaced by a drum machine which might be worse.

Ringo Starr and Ben Harper

Here's an interview that I found that came up on Myspace when I checked in today. It's been a while since a post and I'm sorry about that. I started broadcasting school which takes up a ton of time but I promise to try to update this as much as possible.
Anyways, I love this interview! Ringo is so open and I love when he says, "I'm a drummer, not a plumber!" It just made me laugh and I also thought it was interesting that he had played on "Imagine" which I didn't know about but he also mentioned "Come Together" and "Rain" as the song where his playing seemed to change.
Enjoy this because it put a smile on my face!
