Here's an interview that I found that came up on Myspace when I checked in today. It's been a while since a post and I'm sorry about that. I started broadcasting school which takes up a ton of time but I promise to try to update this as much as possible.
Anyways, I love this interview! Ringo is so open and I love when he says, "I'm a drummer, not a plumber!" It just made me laugh and I also thought it was interesting that he had played on "Imagine" which I didn't know about but he also mentioned "Come Together" and "Rain" as the song where his playing seemed to change.

Gonna write a little letter.
Okay, so I have decided that this is the year I will finally write to a lot of my favorite artists and others.
I found this great database. All you have to do is just search for whoever you want and it should come up.
This database has not only muscians(groups) but has actors/actresses, directors, singers,tv presenters, models, authors, and sports(athletes/teams.
Once I write my letters and stuff, I'll let you know their wherabouts and what happens. I would like to get some autographs as well.

Happy Birthday Paul!
I'm excited tody because it is Sir Paul McCartney's birthday! Paul was born on this day and is 66 years YOUNG. I swear the man doesn't look a day over 40. He could pass for his 40's and even young 50's.
Paul is like the coolest person on the planet. He is well becomming my favorite Beatle as of late. First it was John and then it was George and now....it's Paul! I love them all though, even though I never went through a Ringo period but never say never.
Paul and I have something in common and that is we are both Gemini's. Even last year, his new album came out on my b-day. I had the pleasure of seeing this man a few years ago and I can't wait to go again. Recently, he did a show in Kiev which is in the Ukraine. I'm Ukrainian and I want to learn more about where my ancestors came from and my heritage. In a way, I think it's cool that he played for my people in a spot where they declared their independence. I thought it was sweet that he still played his show even under bad weather conditions battling storms.
He also is a wonderful guy because he's so funny and warm with his humor. He also gives to charities (no landmines) and he's all about not eating meat and being vegan. That's not my thing but I think it's cool that he does that stuff.
I hope that he had a fun day w/ his family and probably his new girlfriend (supposedly), Nancy Cheville.
I think Paul really got me to be a bigger fan because I loved him in the Beatles but he was so awesome with his solo career. Wings is a favorite band of mine! There used to be a joke in the 70's about what was the band Paul was in before wings.
I'm not going to make any playlist but I highly recommend starting out with either "Ram" which was Paul's solo album after he left the Beatles or get "Wingspan hits and history."

This is one of my favorite Wings songs, if not number one! This music video is actually from the "McCartney years" dvd set and I highly recommend getting it. It has tons of great footage and all of Paul's music videos. This man is a genious. I know he still has years of rocking ahead of him!
This is my gift to Paul since he loved Elvis so much and they once said that the Beatles wouldn't exist if not for Elvis. Here Elvis sings "Yesterday" at a rehearsal and I think that is Paul's most well-known song and it's the most covered.

New artist Adele
I got up this morning extra early since I had orientation at my broadcasting school. There was nothing on as usual since it was before 9 so I turned on vh1 and started watching some music video's.
I really like this new artist from the UK named Adele. She's got an old-school soul sound but it's a nice mix of smokey blues and jazz. She said that she was influenced very much by Etta James and Etta Fitzgerelad. You can definately hear those influences and it was like that type of music but for our generation Y.
The song is called "Chasing Pavement." She said that she got dumped by a stupid loser boyfriend and was all dramatic and ran down the street and was just chasing the ground in front of her.
I thought the music video was a cool concept and if you like Amy Winehouse and Duffy, then you'll really like Adele!

So apparently Led Zeppelin is NOT getting back together for like the millonth time. I remember being so hyped about the Ahmet Eretegan tribute at Wembley stadium way back in December. I recently became a pretty huge fan of the band and yet this rumor keeps going around that they are getting back together. My favorite one had them reuniting in Canda! Like why the hell would Led Zeppelin be doing in Canda anyways? RANDOM!
Basically John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page say that a tour at this point is 'inevitable.' I kinda liked their one-off show deal and anyways it's pretty hard to do this because Robert Plant is currently on tour w/ Allison Krauss for their album "Raising sand."
I guess there goest that rumor!
The closet I saw Led Zeppelin was at a lazer show and this stoner(I'm pretty sure he probably smoked some weed before the show) keep yelling behind me, 'YEAH JIMMY!'
It was quite amusing and the animations were so terrible on 'Stairway' that the stairs looked like an escalotor. It was still fun but I was mad that they didn't even play 'kashmir' which according to Plant, was Led's best song and I agree! I hate 'Stairway' so much I like it. It gets old after a while and it's weird like folk song. It's only fun to do the subliminal message deal which is quite creepy.

Since I'm a song and dance girl....
I just had to post this! Tonight I watched the "Tonys" and I really do love musical theatre, I grew up with it all my life.
Well my friends, now I've seen everything. As I was searching for information about 'James McCartney' on youtube, I ran across an interesting video. The search result was 'James Paul McCartney." I totally forgot that Paul's first name was James and they only called him Paul because HIS fathers name was James as well but I believe he was called Jim.
Anyways, I found this lost concert from 1973. It's kind of a scary song but it made me giggle and I couldn't help but smile. The song is called "Gotta sing, Gotta dance."
There are like SO many things wrong with this video including Paul's 'pornstache' mustache! I really don't understand the part man, part woman deal but it does look kinda cool and the tapping was great! I loved Paul's shoes. Lol. The thing that cracked me up was the giant leg in the background! It reminded me so much of the lamp from "A Christmas Story."
I hope Paul doesn't do broadway because it would end up like this. Lol.

Happy Father's Day!
I know I'm a little late posting this because it's well past midnight by now. Oh well. I got a great idea for a post though. Since the radio station we have here, 104.3 the oldies station did a father's day song countdown, I got inspiration from that. I have posted a playlist with songs about fathers, etc. but I also did something cool as well.
I have decided to do the good ole' method of using a famous father and talking about their kid who followed in their footsteps musically. It definately reminds me of MTV's show, "Rock the craddle," which was so bad it was good. So without further adieu, my little playlist.
Playlist of Father's day songs:
1)Father and son-Cat Stevens. Recently just got into Cat. He's such a hippie.
2)Beautiful boy-John Lennon wrote this for his son Sean.
3)Goodnight-A Beatles song off the white album written by John as a lullaby type song for Julian but Ringo sings this.
4)Hey Jude-Paul wrote this for Julian Lennon and cared for that child as his own. I think it was very sweet of him and Julian's parents were going through a tough divorce and Paul wanted to kinda reach out and say that it was okay.
5)Cats in the cradle-It's a song by Harry Chapin and was written by Chapin's wife as a poem at the time. He came up with the melody and the rest is history. Although this song is indeed sad, it's message is to always be there for your kids because life is too short and when you have time, they won't.
6)Father and Daughter-Paul Simon. Very cute song!
7)Dance with my father-By the late Luther Vandross. Very touching song.
8)Papa can you hear me?-I know it's cheesy but Babs sings this one so well. It's from the moive "Yentyl." Go rent it!
9)In my life-The Beatles yet again. This one could pertain to anyone that you want it to. I love songs like that!
10)Song for my father-Horace Silver-Jazz classic from 1964. It also inspired the bass line for Steely Dan's "Rikki don't lose that number."
Onto part two:
1)Crosby Loggins:Won 'rock the cradle' and is the son of kenny loggins who was a soundtrack king w/ his partner messina. I just watched part of "Caddyshack" today and one of their songs was in it. Anyways, Crosby does a good job of this cover of "Long road to ruin" by the Foo fighters.
2)Sean Lennon:As the son of John and Yoko (how weird it must be), Sean had to prove that he was a talent. He made an album around 1998 called "Into the sun" but his album last year "Friendly fire" was excellent. He has a similar voice like John's and he mixes rock and orchestral stuff very well. It's like Pink Floyd mixed in with the Beatles to me and it's all unique. Here he's doing "Deadmeat," a haunting song off the album that is my favorite!
I also loved this aucoustic version and also the song "On again and off again" is included.
3)Dhani Harrison:Son of George Harrison and what I like to call the 'mini-George' for he looks SO much like his dad. Dhani played at the tribute concert for his dad 'The concert for George' and also helped finish up George's last album w/ Jeff Lyne 'Brainwahsed.' Dhani is in a band called 'Thenewno2.' They are an electronic based band but I really dig their sound.
4)Julian Lennon:Yes the OTHER Lennon. Jules got big around the 80's and he has a couple of good albums, "Valotte" and "Photograph smile."
5)Jakob Dylan:Bob's son. He was part of the 'Wallflowers' and has a new album coming out soon! I really loved this live cut from the house of blues in 05!You should also check out Jakob and Dhani's version of John Lennon's "Gimme some truth." It's like the Harrison-Dylan sessions all over again!
6)Dweezil Zappa-Frank Zappa fans know him from 'Zappa plays Zappa.' I have yet to go but I want to. I loved Frank and all his weirdness! My brother once told me that Frank really loved music and made over 30 albums. Craziness. Moon unit sings on this one! SO EIGHTIES!
7)Last but not least who can forget Ringo's son Zak Starkey! Zak has played w/ his dad at his All-Starr shows, for the Who, and is currently in Oasis.
